TITLE: Route Manager 

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Residential, Commercial, and Operations Supervisors 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt 

Position Summary:

The Route Manager, under direction of the Residential, Commercial, and Operations Supervisors, creates a great experience for Tiger Employees and Customers by auditing and improving upon current Tiger practices and modifying employee behavior within the Operations Department. 

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with the Residential, Commercial, and Operations Supervisors to address any employee performance that does not meet expectations
• Evaluates, prioritizes, and distributes workload while meeting company safety, compliance, quality control and service standards
• Conducts weekly fleet walks to inspect vehicle cleanliness, mechanical condition and all required forms are located on the vehicle
• Addresses and completes tasks in assigned through the company’s enterprise risk management software 
• Investigates and completes required paperwork on customer damage claims 
• Performs, evaluates, and documents route observations and pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company issued vehicles 
• Assists in assessing routes for optimum efficiency
• Actively communicates all changes to daily route sheet to the dispatch team
• Reviews and completes daily work orders
• Ensures accurate completion of route sheets and VCRs by the end of each day 
• Ensures that Drivers are operating vehicles in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws 
• Assists Sales Department in account retention efforts 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to fifty pounds, with or without assistance. 
• Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community.

Education and Experience

• Must possess a valid Class C Driver’s License 
• Experience in commercial and residential waste, preferred 
• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. 

Working Conditions

This position will be mostly based in an outdoor environment, exposed to the elements, with extended periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
